Generate it on your own roof.

Design, supply, installation and grid connection — handled by one team across New South Wales.

Licensed and accredited

Installed by appropriately licensed electricians and SAA-accredited installers.

Manufacturer warranty

Panel and inverter warranties issued with your quote.

One team throughout

Same crew assesses, lodges and installs.

Written quote first

Products, price and timeframe before you commit.

One team from the first site visit to the final meter sign-off.

Most solar jobs pass through a retailer, a subcontracted installer and an electrician who've never met. When something goes wrong afterwards, so does the accountability.

RB Trades Services Pty Ltd provides residential and commercial solar and battery solutions. Installations are completed by appropriately licensed electricians and SAA-accredited installers.

Established in 2023, RB Trades Services is supported by a team with more than 15 years of combined industry experience. We assess the site, design the system for your roof, lodge the network application, complete the installation and stay responsible for it afterwards.

What we do

Three trades, one team.

Rooftop solar

A grid-connected array generates electricity while the sun is on your roof. Whatever your home isn't using at that moment is exported to the grid.

  • Site assessment and array design
  • Roof-specific mounting
  • Inverter selection and commissioning
  • Network application lodged for you

Home batteries

A battery stores surplus solar so you can use it after dark. An inverter does not store electricity; energy storage requires a compatible battery system. Sizing starts with your evening usage, not a brochure.

  • Usage review before sizing
  • New systems or retrofit to existing solar
  • Backup circuits where a compatible system is designed for it
  • Eligibility checked against current schemes

General electrical

Switchboards, meter work, EV chargers and the everyday jobs around a home or small commercial site — quoted and completed by the same team.

  • Switchboard and supply upgrades
  • EV charger supply and install
  • Lighting, power and rewiring
  • Fault-finding and repairs

How it works

Quote to connection.

Grid-connected work involves your distributor and your retailer, not only us. Here's the whole path, including the parts we handle on your behalf and the parts that are genuinely out of our hands.

01

Site assessment and written quote

We review your roof, switchboard and recent bills, then issue a written quote setting out the products, the total price, and the timeframe for supply and installation — including anything outside our control that could delay it.

02

Site-specific design and estimate

You get a layout for your actual roof and an estimate of what the system should generate at your address. If you don't accept the design, tell us within 10 business days and cancel for a full refund.

03

Network connection approval

Before installation an application goes to your electricity distributor for permission to connect and, where needed, to reconfigure your meter. We'll arrange this for you — any charge we make for doing so is stated in your quote. If you'd rather lodge it yourself, we'll support you through it.

04

Installation

Installations are completed by appropriately licensed electricians and SAA-accredited installers. Most residential jobs run a single day; larger systems and switchboard upgrades take longer.

05

Meter reconfiguration and sign-off

Your retailer arranges the meter change and may charge you for it — that charge is theirs, not ours. Once the meter is configured we commission the system and hand over your compliance paperwork and monitoring.

System sizes

Common residential configurations.

Sizing comes down to how much you use and how much unshaded roof you have. These are what we quote most often — the right one for you comes out of the site assessment, not off this page.

System Typical inverter Roof area Suits daily use of Action
6.6 kWSmall to average home 5 kW Approx. 27 m² unshaded 15–25 kWh per day Get a price
10 kWLarger home 8–10 kW Approx. 42 m² unshaded 25–40 kWh per day Get a price
13 kWLarge home / small business 10 kW, single or three phase Approx. 53 m² unshaded 40–60 kWh per day Get a price
Products and warranties Panel and inverter brand, exact model, quantity, inverter capacity and the applicable manufacturer warranties are confirmed in your written quotation, once the system has been designed for your property.

By arrangement

We take work elsewhere in NSW case by case. Call and ask — we'd rather tell you straight than take a job we can't service properly.

What solar actually does

Where the value comes from.

Talk to us about how a properly designed solar system may help reduce electricity costs and carbon emissions. System performance, savings and suitability depend on the property, electricity usage, tariffs, system design and network requirements.

Lower grid consumption

Electricity you generate and use on site is electricity you don't buy. How much depends on how much of your usage happens during daylight.

Feed-in for the surplus

Whatever you export earns a feed-in tariff set by your retailer, not by us. Rates vary between retailers and change over time.

Rebates at point of sale

Eligible installations attract small-scale technology certificates, applied as a discount on your quoted price.

Low maintenance

A correctly installed system needs little beyond periodic inspection. We won't make servicing a condition of your warranty.

Rebates and incentives

What you're actually eligible for.

Solar and battery incentives in NSW change regularly, and not every scheme can be combined with another. We check your eligibility against the rules in force on the day we quote you, and show it as a line item rather than folding it into a headline number.

Small-scale technology certificates The federal STC scheme reduces the upfront cost of an eligible installation. The certificates are assigned to RB Trades Services Pty Ltd in exchange for a discount on your price. Their value moves with the certificate market and with the year of installation, so the amount is confirmed in your written quote.
Battery incentives Battery schemes have their own eligibility rules and some cannot be claimed alongside others. We'll tell you which one applies to your job — and if none does, we'll say so.
Electrical services

The everyday work, too.

Switchboards, meter work, EV chargers and everyday electrical jobs, completed by appropriately licensed electricians. If it's on your switchboard or behind your walls, we can quote it.

  • Switchboard upgrades
  • Safety switch installation
  • EV charger supply and install
  • Meter box relocation
  • Three-phase supply upgrades
  • LED lighting and downlights
  • Power point installation
  • Ceiling fan installation
  • Rewiring and repairs
  • Fault-finding
  • Smoke alarm compliance
  • Small commercial fit-outs

Capability

What we install.

Three system types, each suited to a different site and a different problem. We'll tell you which one your property actually calls for.

Grid-connect

The standard residential setup. Panels feed the home during daylight and export the surplus. Requires connection approval from your distributor before installation.

Hybrid and off-grid

Solar paired with battery storage, either alongside the grid or independent of it. Backup operation depends on the selected equipment, system design, available battery capacity and installation of compatible backup circuits. Not every solar and battery installation provides whole-home backup.

Commercial and industrial

Larger arrays for business premises, where roof area and three-phase supply open up capacity that isn't available on most homes.

Questions

Before you commit.

What areas do you service?

We supply and install across New South Wales, working from our base in Westmead. Metropolitan Sydney is our most frequent service area; for regional work, travel and site conditions are set out in your written quote before you commit.

Will an inverter store energy for me to use at night?

Solar inverters convert DC electricity generated by solar panels into AC electricity used by the property. An inverter does not store electricity. Energy storage requires a compatible battery system. Backup power during an outage is available only when a compatible system has been designed, installed and configured for backup operation.

Do I need approval from my electricity distributor?

Yes. Connecting solar or a battery to the grid requires approval from your distributor, and your meter often needs reconfiguring.

We'll arrange this on your behalf, and any charge we make for doing so is set out in your written quote. If you'd prefer to obtain connection approval yourself, we'll support you through the steps and the paperwork.

Will my energy retailer charge me for the meter change?

They may. Connection to the energy network and any meter reconfiguration is arranged through your retailer, and they can impose their own charge for it. That charge is separate from our quoted price.

How long will it take?

Your written quote states the timeframe for supply and installation. The main variables are distributor approval and meter reconfiguration, both of which sit with third parties. Where a delay is outside our control we'll identify it up front, not after the fact.

Can I change my mind?

Yes. You have cooling-off and termination rights under Australian Consumer Law, including the right to terminate a sales agreement within 10 business days where the sale resulted from an unsolicited approach.

You can also terminate for a full refund if you don't accept the site-specific design we provide, if we propose a significant change to that design and you don't agree to it, or if site conditions create extra chargeable work we're not prepared to absorb. Full terms are set out in your written quote and contract.

What does your workmanship warranty cover?

Defects in our installation work, including any leakage that results from poor workmanship. Product warranties come from the manufacturer and their terms are supplied with your quote. Nothing in our warranty limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

How do I make a complaint?

Contact us at Info@rbts.au or 0421 837 933. We'll acknowledge it and provide a final response within 25 business days of receipt, unless we both agree to a longer period. If we cannot resolve it, you can contact the New Energy Tech Consumer Code Administrator on 03 9929 4195 or at info@newenergytech.org.au.

Warranty Information

Two separate warranties apply to a solar or battery installation.

Product warranties are issued by the manufacturer of each panel, inverter and battery. The applicable brand, model, warranty period and warranty terms for your system are set out in your written quotation and supplied with your documentation at handover. Warranty periods differ between products and between components of the same system, and performance warranties on panels are separate from product warranties.

Our workmanship warranty covers defects in our installation work, including any leakage that results from poor workmanship on our part. The period and terms are stated in your written quotation and contract. We do not require you to purchase an annual service or inspection as a condition of this warranty.

Damage caused by storm, flood, fire, vermin, accident, misuse, unauthorised modification, or work carried out by another party is not covered by our workmanship warranty. To make a claim, contact us with your installation address and a description of the fault and we will advise whether the claim sits with us or with the manufacturer, and assist with either.

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this warranty limits, excludes or modifies those rights.

Privacy Policy

When you request a quote we collect your name, contact details, property address and information about your energy usage, including a recent electricity bill if you choose to provide one. We may also collect information about your roof, switchboard and electricity account where it is needed to design a system.

We use your information to prepare and deliver your quotation, to arrange site assessments and installation, to lodge network connection applications on your behalf, and to meet our obligations under Australian Consumer Law and the New Energy Tech Consumer Code.

The enquiry forms on this website do not send anything to us on their own. Submitting one opens WhatsApp on your device with your details written into a draft message, which is only sent when you choose to send it. Messages sent that way are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy terms and are received by us on a business phone.

We may share your information with your electricity distributor and retailer where this is necessary to obtain connection approval or arrange meter reconfiguration, and with subcontractors engaged to carry out work at your property. We do not sell your personal information.

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting Info@rbts.au. If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us using the details below, or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Complaints Handling Procedure

You can make a complaint by phone on 0421 837 933, by email to Info@rbts.au, or by post to 48 Moree Avenue, Westmead NSW 2145. Please tell us your name, contact details, the address of the installation if relevant, and what has gone wrong.

We will acknowledge your complaint promptly, investigate it, and provide a final response within 25 business days of receiving it, unless we both agree to extend that period. If we need longer, we will explain why and agree a new timeframe with you. We do not charge for handling complaints.

If we cannot resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may escalate it to the New Energy Tech Consumer Code Administrator on 03 9929 4195, at info@newenergytech.org.au, or at Level 20, 180 Lonsdale St, Melbourne VIC 3000. You may also contact NSW Fair Trading or the Energy and Water Ombudsman NSW. Nothing in this procedure limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
